Twenty-Two Days of Thanks: Day Four

What am I thankful for?
  1. My Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ
  2. My family
  3. My church
  4. My friends
My daughter having a tea party with some of her "friends". :)
When you're little, your first and closest friends are probably your stuffed animals.  Maybe they are siblings or cousins or daycare friends or church friends, but whomever they are, you cherish them...sometimes to the point, in the case of stuffed animals at least, that they are loved on so much they are ratted and falling apart.  But you know, KNOW, that they are there for you...no matter what.
As you get older, you make new friends, but you keep the old friends, too, in most cases.  You learn who you can trust, who you can count on, who is there with a shoulder to cry on or lean on, who is there to offer hugs, words of wisdom or tell you you are wrong because you NEED to hear it and not just tell you what you WANT to hear.  You know who will support you, who will love you even at your most unlovable, who you can turn to in a crisis and who will pray for you.  These are the friends who are life-long, even eternity-long.  You may not have seen them for years, but they are still friends, and if you saw them on the street you'd rush up to them and give them a big ole bear hug.  You know the ones I mean. :)
I am grateful for all those I have had the privilege to call friend, past and present, and all those who I will become friends with in the future.  I may have known you since birth, I may have met you through grade school, high school or college, I may have met you through an online source like The SITS Girls, Circle of Moms, Facebook or some other means, I may have worked with you, I may go to church with you...No matter how we met, no matter how long you've been in or will be in my life, I am grateful for YOU.
I have learned and will learn so much from you.  I have stretched myself because of you.  I have learned new insights, new fears, new triumphs, new joys and sorrows because of you...and it has bettered my life and made me into the person I am today.  I cannot thank you enough for the role you've played in the life that is mine, the person that is me.
To all my friends, past, present and future, I love you all!  Thank you...for everything.
