{Product Review} Enjoy Life Foods Review Day 3 - Brownie Mix (Top 8 Free, Non-GMO, Vegan)

I was recently contacted by Enjoy Life Foods about doing some some product reviews for them*, and I quickly agreed to do so.  We LOVE Enjoy Life products in this house, and I hope these reviews (3 days' worth - 1 day per product) will show you why.

Enjoy Life sent me 3 products to review (pictured above): Sea Salt Plentils, Not Nuts! Seed and Fruit Mix: Beach Bash, and Brownie Mix.

Now for my review on their Brownie Mix!

Let's take a look at the packaging.

As with the other products they sent, I liked the packaging.  It was appealing, easy to see what it was, what it was free of, etc.  They really do an amazing job with packaging on all of their products.  Another A+.

Let's take a closer look at the product.

All you had to add to the product was water and oil.  You could choose to grease and flour the pan with a "safe for you" flour or use parchment.  I opted for parchment.  It baked up great, and was super easy to prepare.

They make only an 8x8 pan size, and you cook them for 30 to 40 minutes until a toothpick inserted 2 inches from the side of the pan comes out almost clean.  We opted for the 30 minutes, and the brownies turned out more fudgy - just the way we like them!   We cut them into 16 pieces to get the idea of what their serving size idea is (it says the mix makes 14 brownies), which is small but tall.

All in all, the brownies looked and smelled AMAZING, but we were disappointed that the mix didn't make bigger brownies.  I'd still give them an A, though, especially because the product was developed with probiotics and contained 5g of protein per serving.  Very awesome.

What do they taste like?

These taste AMAZING!  Rich, fudgy, decadent, more dark chocolate or bittersweet in flavor - the perfect brownie for us!  My husband thought they were a little drier than a normal brownie, but that did not distract from the yummy factor at all.  These were instantly the favorite.  Once we tried them, we were ok that the portion size was a little smaller because they were so rich, too.  I give them an A+ on this mix.

Can I find the Brownie Mix in other flavors?
Not at this time, but they do have other baking mixes (all-purpose flour, pizza crust, muffin mix, and pancake and waffle mix) that you can check out here.  All of there baking mixes are top 8 free, non-GMO, and vegan.  Such an awesome thing!

What does the brownie mix cost?
The brownie mix costs about $8.50 a box on their website.  Again, the price isn't too bad for a mix that tastes amazing, is a top 8 free, non-GMO, and vegan, and that works for a lot of different diets and needsSome people will find the price tag a bit much, but you can find coupons for them at times, and they do go on sale.  Others of you will find this price a real bargain, so let's give it a B for cost.

The verdict?
Enjoy Life Foods' Brownie Mix is a winner!  If you're looking for a really amazing brownie mix that is TOP 8 FREE, VEGAN, and NON-GMO, this is for youYou won't even know they aren't "normal" brownies, I promise!

Now for my review on Not Nuts! Seed and Fruit Mix: Beach Bash!

Let's take a look at the packaging.

I liked the packaging.  Lightweight, appealing, and easy to see what it was, what it was free of, etc.  Now, the only discrepancy I found was that their site says the mix is non-GMO, but I did not see that on the packaging anywhere.  That being said, I will still give them an A on packaging.

Let's take a closer look at the product.

Lots of great colors and textures in here!  It definitely had great visual appeal, smelled great, and made you want to dive right in!  I give them an A+ on visual appeal.

What does it taste like?

This is one we all loved right away.  It wasn't too sweet, but there was definitely a sweet and salty thing going on.  It also had a nice crunch from the seeds.  It really is a good trail mix with the dried cranberries, dried pineapple, dried apricots, sunflower seeds, and pumpkin seeds.  There was no excess salt or grease either.  I really liked that there were no raisins, and the fruit and seed ratio seemed to be more balanced.  I give them an A+ on this mix.

Can I find Not Nuts! Seed and Fruit Mix in other flavors?
Yes, you can!  Not Nuts! Seed and Fruit Mix comes in Beach Bash (the flavor shown here) and Mountain Mambo.  Both flavors are top 8 free, non-GMO, and vegan.  To read more about these products, click here.

What does the product cost?
They cost about $4.50 for a 6 oz. bag, and about $1.30 for a 1.6 oz bag if you buy a package of 12 on their website.  The price isn't too bad for a mix that tastes amazing, is a top 8 free, non-GMO, and vegan, and that works for a lot of different diets and needsSome people will find the price tag a bit much, but you can find coupons for them at times, and they do go on sale.  Others of you will find this price a real bargain.   All things considered, let's give it a B for cost.

The verdict?
Enjoy Life Foods' Not Nuts! Seed and Fruit Mix: Beach Bash is a winner!  If you're looking for a trail mix that comes in a few different flavors, but is also TOP 8 FREE, VEGAN, and NON-GMO, this is for youThese mixes will make your mouth happy and not jeopardize your health in the process!

{Product Review} Enjoy Life Foods Review Day 1 - Sea Salt Plentils (Top 8 Free, Non-GMO, Vegan)

First up in the review is the Plentils.

To read my review on the Not Nuts! Seed and Fruit Mix: Beach Bash, go here.

Let's take a look at the packaging.

I liked the packaging.  Lightweight, appealing, and easy to see what it was, what it was free of, etc.  I definitely give them an A+ on packaging.

Let's take a closer look at the chips.

The chips are square and look a little bit like large corn chips, but with a more airy texture.  The color is nice, sunny yellow, and I found them very inviting to try.  They also weren't greasy, so that's another plus.  An A+ for sure on the look and feel of the chips.

What do they taste like?

They had a light, airy texture, and weren't greasyThey also had a great crunchy.  The flavor is hard to describe.  They taste pleasantly like a good sea salt chip when you first bite into them, but they end with almost a chicken flavor aftertaste.  My oldest said the flavor reminded him of gluten-free chicken nuggets.  They reminded me a lot of original Bugles in texture, and a bit like Chicken In A Biskit crackers in flavor.  It was one of those things where we weren't quite sure what to think until we had a few bites, and then we were all hooked.  My husband even said that he'd eat them daily, and that's saying something because he's picky about his chips!  All of my kids, my husband and I ended up liking them a lot, and we kept going back for more until they were gone...and then decided that we needed to go purchase some when we find them at the store. :)  As for a taste grade, I'd say most people might initially give it a B to a B+, but it will quickly move into the A to A+ range the more you eat them.

Can I find them in other flavors?
Yes, you can!  Plentils come in several flavors ranging from the Sea Salt ones reviewed here to Dill & Sour Cream, Margherita Pizza, Garlic & Parmesan, and even Himalayan Pink Salt!  You can check them all out here.  All flavors of Plentils are top 8 free, non-GMO, and vegan!  We have every intention of looking for these in a store near us very soon, and we especially want to try the Margherita Pizza flavor.

What do they cost?
They cost about $4 for a 4 oz. bag, and about $1.45 for a 0.8 oz bag when you buy 6 off their website.  The price isn't too bad for a chip that has so much to offer!  This is a top 8 free, non-GMO, vegan chip that works for a lot of different diets and needs that also tastes good.  Some people will find the price tag a bit much, but you can find coupons for them at times, and they do go on sale.  Others of you will find this price a real bargain.   Either way, $4 is easily acceptable for a "sometimes treat"I will give it a B for cost.

The verdict?
Enjoy Life Foods' Sea Salt Plentils are winners!  If you're looking for a chip that comes in several yummy flavors, but is also TOP 8 FREE, VEGAN, and NON-GMO, Plentils are the way to goThey will definitely satisfy your chip cravings and not jeopardize your health.
